New twist on the old "forgot the plug" trick

I went out this morning to the lake and ended up waiting in line since the gate doesn't open until 6 am. So while I am waiting I do like the rest of the boaters and start preping my boat. Well I went through my mental check list and all was well. Our no wake zone was is about 1/2 mile long, I know its eternal. But once I got through it I was having a heck of a time getting on plane, but I finally did. Well, I finally got to the fishing spot I was going to and started fishing. All of a sudden I notice that my floor is all wet, yup you guessed it, I put the plug in the WRONG hole  So I turn the bilge pump on and troll over to the shallow. I put the plug in the CORRECT hole and troll away from from the shallow. Then after a little while I look back and don't see any more water coming out, but I think to myself that its too fast. A quick look at the back hatch confirms that, but the bilge pump is not working. So I take it apart to and see that there is a bunch of junk that clogged it up. Once I clean it all up I snap it back in place but still nothing. So I check the fuse and sure enough its blown. Luckily I had an extra one with me so I go ahead and replace it and the pump starts pumping again

So just as I am getting back to fishing, my pager goes off  Someone wants me to look at their application to see if I see any errors. I could have slept in for this kind of aggrevation.

Glad you didn't sink! But if i was you id leave that pager home when fishing. you just sometimes have to leave work at work. Also glad you reminded me to put fuses in my boat. Thanks and hope your next fishing trip goes alot smoother. :D

Water_surge, just how many holes do you have in the transom of your boat? And what does DFW stand for(Didn't Finish Work) Leave work at work, after all fishing is a priority, ain't it.

There are 3 holes in the back of my boat.As far as the pager is concerned, if I left it at home I would be without a job. I do production support for one of the major telecoms, so that pager is my livelyhood. If I go fishing while I have the pager, I know that my fishing trip can get cut short at any time. But the option is to just stay home while on support :( The nice thing is that most of the times I am called, I dont really have to do anything. But since I can charge my company for that time, it will usually pay for my fishing trips :D :D :D for a whole week. Since I go 2 - 4 times a week, it pays to get paged ;)
