I'm new to the forum too, but noticed that there's an OMC I/O outdrive forum that is more specific to the type of problem you are experiencing. The link is all the way at the bottom of the page where the postings are. Once you are at that link, you can look to the left and see a link for "shifting" - which then pulls up similar problems as yours. Maybe you can get in touch with someone that way.
