New Volvo 5.7 using oil

Put a brand new fourwinns in the water this weekend. It has the 5.7 Volvo motor. After using it for about 2/3 hrs I noticed the oil level was down and took almost 3/4 of a liter to bring to half on the dip stick. And yes there was oil in it to start with.

Fill it to the top of the mark WITH THE BOAT IN THE WATER so the engine is level. Take it for a run again and then check the oil after it sits for a few minutes so the oil can drain back down to the pan from the top of the engine.

Are you doing the proper break-in procedure? New engines sometimes use more oil than normal.
Since it is "Brand New" you should be talking to your dealer, not a boating forum.
