New waterpump and housing, do I need sealer?

I've gone ahead and ordered a new waterpump kit which includes a new housing (plastic as opposed to the old metal one). Do I need to use any sealer on the grommets or on the bottom gasket?

If so, what kind should I use?

Edit: Put OMC Adhesive M or equivalent on the bottom of the impeller plate.

On the top of the shafts of the mounting screws, use OMC Gasket Sealing Compound.Part # 317201.

Is that the plate that the impeller sits on? There is a rubber gasket between the housing and the plate, but I don't think that they sent me one that goes on the other side of the plate. Am I misunderstanding?

I just did the same thing. Got an omc kit. It came with very good instructions with drawings and tells where to apply sealer. The kit did not come with any sealer, but came with lube for the driveshaft splines.

Sorry, I had to go back and see what motor you had.

They don't need the gasket under the plate. If you don't have one, put the sealer OMC Adhesive M on the underside of the plate and align the hole in the plate with the hole in the gearcase.

OMC Adhesive M is 3M Scotch Grip 847.

OMC Adhesive M can also help to hold the Exhaust Seal in place during reassembly.

If you want that long seal in the impeller housing to stay in place, glue it in the slot with one of the sealers and let it dry enough so that it won't turn around when you turn the impeller.
