Purchased a 93 fourwinns with a Johnson 115 outboard motor. THe boat has a side mount control system. Not sure exactly how it operates. I understand the trim tilt button, and of course push forward go forward ect. Under hte handle is a red lever, assuming it is to get out of neutral and go forward or reverse. When starting the engine, how do you give it more gas, without being "in gear". Probably a simple question, but need some guidence.

thanks

I don't know exactly where to point you but you need to find an owner's manual for the motor. I think this site has a Johnson/evinrude section. Start there.

Re: newbi control question

Let's try this in the OB non-repair section. Usually there is some kind of lever or button that disengages the shift from the throttle. Depends on the control itself, but I am sure you'll get more info here.

Good luck!
