Newbi looking for sources: Floor repair

i keep searching and find vast amount of info on how to repair. I wanted to ask for a source to get info on the proper way to replace floor and carpet.

Have a pontoon and waverunner but bought my first open bow boat and have a weak floor towards the stern. Winter is coming up and i want to rip out the carpet and repair the floor. Thought about replacing the whole floor and applying resen to the wood to help it in the long run.

I'm pretty handy i just need good set of instructions to tackle this repair.

Need to know what type of wood, good resin or fiberglass, ect....

This would be better off posted in the restoration section, there are many great restorations going on and a lot of knowledge pouring out of that part of the board.
