When there is a strong current and 10 mph winds do I have to worry much about controling a 16 ft fiberglass center console boat with a 60hp engine.. This might sound like a silly question but I want to be sure I learn all I can from guys with exp. and this seems like that forum.......
thanks.

10 mph wind should not be a problem, unless you are dead in the water and it is blowing you out to sea.

Strong Current
is pretty subjective. What is strong current? Current can be a problem, if it pushes you up against a bridge, or pushes you away from the trailer while loading, or traps you against a head dam. If you see swirls on top of the water, then there is current to be watchful of.

You've taken the courses and now you need to get some experience. It would be a good idea to take aan experienced boater with you on your first voyage. Have fun, be safe.

With your rig, I'd expect that current and wind would not be so much of a problem while underway in open water, but they can pose some daunting challenges at the boat ramp, while anchoring and manuvering in tight places.

A combination of wind and current can pose a problem for any boat. Generally the more square footage that the side of your boat has the worse it is in the wind so your center console shouldn't be that bad. A strong current will definately keep you on your toes if you lose power so make sure your kicker is ok and your VHF is working properly.
