Newbie here needs to know year of motor

. I hope I posted this in the right place. My question is I just bought a 20hp (200) merc outboard and have no Idea what year it is. The serial # is 7115188 I looked around the net but couldn't find this serial#. The person I bought it from thinks its a 1981 but he is not sure. The cover has the blue and silver strips. Any help would be great.

1978 7115188 is a Canadian serial no.
