hanging the impeller on my 15 hp, lil guy outboard... i have the lower leg off, the shift rod has alot of apparantly carbon buildup on it... it's a 17 year old motor... is that normal...?
ALso, when i put the shift rod back in, do i "grease the WHOLE rod or just the ends?

What kind of grease? can i use high speed bearings grease like i used to pack my bearings on my trailer...?

Thx folksc
