Hi everyone, im new here and im getting ready to replace the transom and floor on my 86 Dyna-trak 180 bass boat. I've done this task before on a 16 foot Hydra-sport bass boat by leaving it on the trailer and it turned out ok but it was a pain getting in and out of it. This time i have a large garage at my disposal and would like to take it off the trailer and do the work sitting on some sort of cradle. I don't want to drop a bunch of money on something fancy or elaborate that i will only use one time when i could use the money on supplies. Although, i want it to be secure and safe. I thought of using some cinder blocks on both sides with some carpeted 4 x 4's at three or four locations along the keel and then wedge it where it won't shift. I also thought about using tires and/or styrofoam blocks but it didn't seem to sturdy. Anyway im glad to be here and hope maybe someone on here can give me some tips. Btw, i've already seperated the deck from the hull to lighten the load so it's time to get dirty. I'd appreciate any advice.....thanks
John

it's moble and would allow you to move the boat around if needed.
i got it from another posting, you can type the word cradle or how to build a cradle into the search box at the top on the site.

Did you take measurement before separating the top from the hull bottom? I would before doing anything else so when the time comes, they fit together again. Also, try to install casters that lock. Double locking type casters are even better. That way you can lock the cradle and work in it and if you need to move it, you unlock them and move it around with ease. JMHO!
