Just bought a 2003 Stingray 200lx with a 5.0 merc and merc outdrive. Boat is in really good shape, clean, always serviced and 180 Hrs.

Test drove with Merc tech and runs smooth and quite. I did notice that boat seem to porpoise for me but fiqured I'd learn the new boat and what it needed. I cruise the lake with mamma and a few friends mostly don't ski but will be pulling a few tubes

Boat came with the recommended 21P 3 blade prop. I plan to swap 3blade for a 4 blade amita AL. prop and thought a 20p or 19 would be best. I do plan to put on trim tabs later as well. Just want to get on plane quick cut the wake and smooth ride.

Question is will the pitch change lug down the boat enough to harm or effect GPH and would this be a good choice.

Old boat was a 86 Ranger 373 with 150 Evin that was excellent in rough water

Your pitch selection will depend on your present max rpm and speed with the 21" prop.
speed by gps is best.
GPH will remain relatively constant; hole shot and speed are affected by prop selection and thus actual fuel use.You would have to really mess up to be able to tell the difference without a flow meter or very careful fuel monitering.
