I am working out the details about purchasing a Center Console boat for both saltwater & fresh water fishing in Texas. This will be the 1st boat that I purchase and I was wanting some advice as to what brand of boat to purchase? Any information that anyone learned when they were starting out would really help. No matter how insignificant.

I was thinking about a Kenner Vision 1900. Does anyone recommend a certain type of boat for both fresh and saltwater bay fishing? I'm thinking, no more than 21k fully rigged with trolling motor and depth finder.

Thanks for any information you can pass along.

Jeff

Re: Newbie Requesting Info.

Should be a great boat for the lakes. A little small for those days on the bay that are extra rough. If you want to consider a bigger boat switching to a roll gunnel design (instead of linered) may keep that within budget. Here is a thread over on RodnReel for some more ideas - Features to look for in new CC

Kelly Cook

Jeff - Here at iboats you can get advice and recommendations from all over the world. One source of information you should not leave out is the local boaters in your area. Spend some time at the ramps and marinas where you plan on going and talk to the folks. Hit the marine repair shops and see if you can get a feel for the service that is available for the types of rigs you are thinking about.
