Hi,
If your taking the time to read this thank you. My Father inlaw has a boat that I just took on as a fixer upper. I am in hopes of getting some good feedback from all of the experience on this forum in iboats.
I dont know if you can post pics here but if you can I will chronicle my first experience with restoing this boat.
Here is a basic summary of what I am dealing with.
I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, big coastal water town. Think Norfolk Naval base and surrounding areas. I have many firends in the Marine business that work on motors and electrical and I thank God for there assistance, So I have heard everything from dont put to much money into this boat it is to old, to just crank her up and let her run. So onto the boat:
She is a 1988 C-Eagle 210 inboard outboard the motor is a OMC Cobra 4.3 6 cyl. The boat was purchased new by my Father in law and has been on a Boat lift all of her life. Although the inlaws have not run her in about 3 years.
The boat needs a lot of cosmetic work on the interior as Racoons got in and chewd up some of the Side panels and sound proofing inside the Cbin storage area. The motor was recently turned over and ran by my brother inlaw but it looks as if it needs to be pulled and have some pulleys and other things added on to it. I was thinking about having the motor rebuilt, but would that be a bad investment to take this project to far.
If anyone has links specifically for this boat please post them for me, I would appreciate it. So any and all help would be appreciated.
I am cleaning up the boat and will remove any damged padding and seat cushions as needed and I have a bud that is going to check over the wiring from the harness all the way through the boat.
Then I just need to think about having the motor worked on. Any ideas?
Well Thanks again in advance, I look forward to hearing anything from anyone on this issue.
See ya on the water.
