Hi, first time poster here. A friend gave me a 19' Center Console Bayliner a couple of days before Christmas. It's an older boat and needs some work on the cosmetics but it has a sound hull, good compression on the 125hp Force engine and it needs a trolling motor. He already has another boat and this one was taking up room at his mom's place so it had to go. I've had limited time to work on it but its coming along well. I am in the process of taking off all the old pin striping then I'll patch some minor dings, wet sand those areas and polish the gel coat. Should have her ready to get on the water soon.
Can't wait! BTW haven't figured out the pic posting yet so these are out of order.

Ken

Re: Newbie with a Project.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I have already learned a tremendous amount by surfing this forum. The pinstripe removal was done using eraser wheels that were suggested on here and the wet sanding and polishing supplies were purchased based on other threads. This is an amazing resource. BTW anyone know where I can find Trophy decals like the one in this picture?

The ones on the boat are cracking and peeling off. I already found some replica Bayliner lettering and will order them soon. I'll post some more pics when i get more done.

Re: Newbie with a Project.

Check ebay and/or amazon. They have a surprisingly large selection of decals, etc... If/when you even want to start tinkering with vintage OMC motors, NYmarine.com, is a great source for factory authentic paint and graphics. A little pricey, but top shelf all the way.

Re: Newbie with a Project.

Welcome fishspot1,
Great score on a real nice center console Bayliner...
Another possible tip to look into for stripes and decals is to check the local automotive paint suppliers and the local vinyl sign shop...they can usually reproduce most any graphic in high quality marine grade vinyl...
Best of Luck on your progress,
