A small suburb of Louisville, KY is under fire for hiring a convicted felon and drug user for Parks Director. The Director was recently arrested for possession of crack cocaine and drunk driving. This was his 9th arrest. He tendered his resignation.
The city council now wants to pass a drug screening test and backgrond check on all future employees and require random drug tests for all employees, including the council members.
The mayor and city attorney are against this provision. The mayor's reasoning is that the civil rights of the 100 some people employed by the city would be violated. He stated, "I will not submit our employees to un-announced drug tests. Our employees deserve the respect to not require this random humiliation."

WTF ??? I was always required to submit to a random drug test as a pharmacist and had no problem with the company requiring this. However, I was never tested.
How many here have to submit to random drug tests in the real world of employment??
