i don´t understand this: The old Powertrim works, but uptimming is only possible if i take the 2 Switches for "tilt". OK, this is the Switch from the 20° tilt-switch i thought. But then i brigded the switch like the Schwitch is closed, and: nothing! I opend the Harnes, like the schwitch is open: nothing again!

Does annybody now what´s wrong??? Broken Wire?

Re: Next Problem!

hello could we possibly get an approximate year and horse power. many boats powered by merc products used the 3 butto switch. if the motor or drive has a trim limit switch and if the trim limit switch actually still works touching the up button will raise it to its trim limit, touching both up buttons bypasses the trim limit switch and allows for tilt. if your motor has no trim limit switch you have to hit both buttons or jumper the trim button contacts

Ste[han, that's the way my old 84" 50hp merc. trim system worked. You had to press both buttons to raise...

Just food for thought...

Is this a new problem?

Re: Next Problem!

Sorry, it´s a 1150 Merc , Build in 1973 i think.
Yes hes has 3 Buttons. But for only trim you shoult take only one, the upper. An this does not work. The trimm switch seems like okay, bekause i testet it with an Ohmmeter. It works! Instead of the switch i took a wire to shortcut this switch, but it does not work too. So i will take a look at the harness. Just for good i found a wiring Diagamm...

Sorry for my broken english, hope you enjoy...
Best greetings from Beck´s town, Germany
Stephan-HB

Re: Next Problem!

no worries. I uses typoeses myself. but its possible that all is working as designed just the trim limit switch is not working or dissconnected.
it was designed so that an accidental over trim could not create a hazard for the operator or equipment. to get past the trim and to the tilt you had to hit 2 buttons at once. most outboards no longer use it but some sterdrives still do. the trim is limited and when the limit is reached a seperate operation must be performed to further raise the drive.
