Well spring must be in the air because the forum is really buzzing again. Some nice projects going on in Restoration and apparently everyone is dusting off their J/E motors. I'm going a wait a few more weeks before pulling my boat out of storage and starting on the transom. I also want to do some major work on my trailer this year in anticipation of hopefully taking my boat to Lake Raystown and down to Ocean City, MD for the first time. We have a 6 month old (our first) who is quite a handful so we'll see how quickly I'm able get anything done and how much boating I get to do. Looking forward to when he's older and can join in the fun. My winter hobby is O gauge model railroading and I did accomplish some nice things on my layout this year. Even though I just joined a new train club, am going to a train show this weekend and am looking forward to a huge show coming up in April, I can definitely feel my mind shifting from trains to the boat. My wife wishes I had cheaper hobbies.

Cheaper hobbies? Yeah, sure. :)

Like a girlfriend, for example?? Try restoring classic cars.

Even golf is more expensive than boats and trains.

Hey ezmobee, give me a shout when you come to Raystown. My neighbor does trains for a hobby, and his son lives in the York area - also enjoys trains. Small world. Git 'er done so we can see ya on the water!

Hey aspeck, I can do that. The train show coming up in York in April (it's every April and October) is the largest of it's kind in the world. Fills every building at the York Fairgrounds. Amazing. I spend way too much money there.

I've only been to Raystown once. Stayed at one of the Corps campgrounds. Thinking of giving this place a try "http://www.heritagecoveresort.com/" as they have a boat ramp and docks right there. Lake Raystown Resort is a little crazy for me.

Re: Nice to see the forum buzzing again

Had to stop and think where Heritage Cove Resorts was ... it is about as far south on the lake as you can go with a power boat ... and there is a LONG no wake from the ramp to open water (over a mile). I have heard the place is nice, but have never been there personally yet. I THINK there are some places where you have to watch out for rocks and shallows getting to the ramp, but not sure because it has been a while since I boated that far south on the Lake. I spend most of my time on the North end of the lake and very seldom get up to Raystown Resort or south of the bridges. I usually boat our of Snyder's Run or Seven Points (both are less than 10 miles from my house).
