I HAVE A OMC STAINLESS PROP,THAT HAS SEVERAL SMALL NICKS IN THE BLADES.HOW BAD DOES A PROP NEED TO BE DAMAGED BEFORE REPLACING IT.BOAT IS A 17 FOOT FISH/SKI WITH A 115 JOHNSON . :confused:

Don't replace it, have it repaired. <br />The more that is gone from the prop the less efficient it is.

BOATRIGHT You can self repair to prevent cracking. The same technique is used on airplanes. With a round file you work the nick out to a half moon shape so the force is displaced evenly over the half moon and not to the inside of the tip of the notch causing it to crack further into the prop.
