I have a 351W that has a freshwater cooling system on it.
The exhaust manifolds have the name NICSON on them.
One of the manifolds has what looks like a crack on the oustide surface of it. I can't tell if it is an actual crack, or a blemish in the casting of the manifold.

The radiator tank is full of antifreeze, and there doesn't appear to be any leaks. The boat has been sitting a long time, and I'm in the process of cleaning it up and getting ready to fire it up. Obvioulsy if there is a leak, I'll know it then!

My question is, if this is a crack, can it be repaired? If not, are these manifolds available and how $$ ?

Also, A real dumb question, but it has been so long I can't remember:

Do I need to run water in the drive when I fire this thing up, or does the freshwater cooling completely cool the engine?

Thanks,

H.
