Nissan 18 or Honda 20

I am looking to buy a new four stroke for my boat. I was wondering if any on has any experience with a Nissan 18 hp or a Honda 20 hp. The Nissan seams to have more parts avaliable such as props and it is about $800 dollars cheaper. When and would I notice the differance in power between the two. I am replaceing a worn out Johnson 15 so would there be any more power with the Nissan 18. I also want to be able to run on four stroke only lakes.<br />Thank You

The Honda has a litle bit more hole shot. Top end is about the same. One is not better than the other. Based on local dealer support and price go with the.......?

Thanks, Has any one used any of these? Would they be good on a 14 foot boat that will weigh 900 pounds at the very max but usully only 550-700.

Hi,<br /><br />I have the Honda BF20 on a 14 ft Lund. So far I love it. I don't have any experience with Nissan, but I think the Honda is worth what I paid for it. It is clean and quiet, starts right up every time and is plenty powerful for me. If you ever sell it, I think the Honda would have better re-sale too. Just my .02

Thank you Peter. Internetoutboards I dont now why the answer you gave was so hard for local dealers and along with there bad attitudes, I have decided I am going to buy through you in a couple weeks on the 18hp
