I have a 2003 Nissan 30HP 2 cycle and have finally found a prop that works perfectly for me. I know the max RPM for this engine is 5500 RPM but this prop turns 5700 on my Nissan tach. Is this considered over winding and will it damage my engine?

The smart thing to do would be to have a slight cup put into the propeller, but I doubt you would do any damage to the engine.

Strange that the rev limiter doesn't kick in at that rpm already ..... running that high rpm without a welded crank might end up twisting your crank .... allthough it should be fine really .... ideally you should get your prop cupped so it adds to the pitch to bring down the max rpm .....

Check you min & max factory recommended 30 HP rpm, seems data is wrong. Should be 5150-5850, if it's true, you are 150 rpm off. Engine should have a outside sticker showing min/max rpm.
