Nissan 40hp NS40C 361-A1 starting issues

Hey guys... I can pull start my engine after some starting fluid and 10 pulls. but it will not crank over with key. it seems like i ain't getting no fire or something is this possible or maybe a wire is not right. any suggestions ???

Does the starter turn with the key?

Check compression, check for fire. If those are okay then you have a fuel system issue.

Yes, the starter turns with key. i have new battery and it seems like it isn't firing, i will check this next. thanks

OK guys i pulled the plugs out and checked for fire and NO FIRE on plugs now what ????

Assuming you either used a plug tester or grounded the metal case of the plugs while testing, you don't have fire. Using your manual as a guide, isolate the problem to the exciter, pulser, cd, or ignition coil... or shorted stop switch.

You can either randomly replace each one of the ignition components or you can get a factory service manual and see which one is bad.

what are good numbers for compression i got 126 and 127 ?

Those compression numbers are very good. DX the ignition.
