Nissan 40hp outboard (NS40C) 1988 - Alternator???

I have a Nissan 40 hp outboard engine (NS40C) 1988. I am new to boating and was curious if these engines had an alternator to continue charging the battery while an operation. Or if anyone could advise what to look for… As I have no idea lol. Thank you!

Nothing that worries me. Just curious if there’s an alternator that puts a charge into my battery as I am using the boat.

When I say what to look for… I mean, what would an alternator look like?

Usually coils under the flywheel charge the battery.-----Read voltage on battery with motor not running.-----Read voltage on battery with motor at fast idle.
