Nissan Fuel Tank

My Nissan owners manuel sais the filter inside the tank needs cleaned every few months or so... Well I bought this motor used an am wanting to clean this out. My question what is the proper way to get this out of the tank and clean it? I unscrew the top of fuel hose connectors will it screws into the tank... But, then it will not pull out... What is the way to tank it out and then what is the proper way to clean it.<br />Thanks,<br />duckslayingpro

Is it a steel or plastic tank?

This is a plastic tank.

Unscrew and yank...its a tight fit.

Don't they have some sort of sticky seal on them? I took one off (not a Nissan one) and it took a steady + continous leverage to prise it off.
