I have a 2001 Nissan NSF15B. This engine developed a problem of not running at higher RPM and would shut down unless throttled back. Would idle all day but not as smooth as normal. RED LED would come on when it revved up. Initally replaced fuel filter thinking it might be fuel starved. Plenty of fuel visible in filter. Checked oil pressure switch and it checks good immediately on start and remains good. Now the engine will not fire at all and there is no spark to the plugs while cranking. Did this once during testing and started back once it cooled off. Now there is no fire to the plugs. Water out the witness tube is very strong and warm when running. Everything points to the CD Unit but wanted to see if others had a similar issue before I 'guessed' and spent $160 for a new one.

Re: Nissan NSF15B No ingnition

The usual culprit when the led comes on at high RPM -- and lumpy slow speed performance -- is overfilled oil, resulting in foam in the crankcase. That can lead to a ton of other problems.

That said, does the led flicker when cranking? If not, you likely have no power to it, and it's time to check the CD (ECU) per the Factory service manual. Don't guess here, as changing random parts gets expensive. Get a Factory service manual from a dealer.
