Nitro Trailers Brakes stuck on?

On the nitro trailer rite near the tongue there is a little dial type switch that prevents your trailer from backing up when turned. However my trailers button wont turn and when it does it only backs up for a couple of feet and locks up the tires again. I dont know what this is? any suggestions are appreciated.

What type of brakes do you have? What actuator?

im not sure they are hydrolic brakes. It uses a 4 prong plug for the lights.

Disk or drum? You kinda need to help us out here if you want us to help. If you don't know what you have then take some pictures and post them. Pictures of the actuator and pics of the brakes looking from the backside of the wheel.

Sounds like the knob closes off the actuator and allows the trailer to reverse and its not working.

Can you tell if the knob is connected to anything.

With surge brakes either the knob will interfear with the ability of the slide mechanism or it will block the fluid flow. Can you tell which?
