i had a 96 90 hp ocean runner cylinder got water in it . motor was hot, but no alarm was sounding . never did the alarm sound when i operated the boat for two seasons, only at start you hear a beep . so now i have a newer motor 2000 johnson 90 hp an i dont want to fry this motor ... i tried to ground the temp sensor but no alarm would sound now i am confused . does have the system check on the tach with the four lights . the horn part # 176360 . will the lights work on the tach if the horn is not working .

Did you have the key on when you tested it?

With System Check when you ground out the tan wire on the block only the lite will lite up with key on and mtr not running. With mtr running and grounding the tan wire the horn will sound and the lite will lite up also if all is correct in the system.

there was no light that came on with just the key on accesorie . with the tan wire grounded. didnt try it with motor running i unpluged the horn to order a new one . i dont know if it will work with new horn. i see all the lights light up when i turn key on for system check and horn sounds one time.

Don't get by what you mean by accessori. Key is supposed to be on in the normal run position. You also may have something wrong with tach/gauge or wiring.
