1996 40hp mercury oil injected<br />When i turn the ignition key no beep, can anybody<br />help?

Sorry Pops.... I can't help, but I am watching for the answer. My 2000 200hp EFI does the same thing. I put a 2000 powerhead on a 1992 Mid and lower. The harness plugged right up, but now when I turn on the key, I do not get the few little quick beeps. I am waiting for a manual so I can check the system loop.

there is a wire attached to the oil tank. if you make sure that is connected you should be able to disconnect the horn under the dash and check voltage if none replace the sensor in the oil tank... mine has two sensors so pick the correct one
