Hi again
Replaced the impellar on my DT4.When I first start the motor I get water flow at the pee hole. Once I give the motor a little fuel the water stops and smoke appears. I removed the lower unit and connected a water hose to the water tube that goes up into the motor and water flowed out the pee hole and also from the mid section housing. Shouldn't the water only run out the pee hole?If I blow in the hose I can hear air venting into the mid section. Is this normal?
Thank for the help.Tom

Re: No cooling after new pump Suzuki DT4

Hi Tom,
If you haven't had any luck with your cooling problem yet I try giving you a few suggestions even though I am not familiar with your motor.
It seems the problem may be the water tube from the pump up thro' the mid section housing is displaced. It fits between a grommet at the power head and water pump and must be aligned on reassembly. The pressure from the hose may be enough to fill the mid section and make it look like it is working. Is the problem only in the water or on muffs? Go over the job once more and check that the water tube is captive at the power head and aligned at the bottom. I think yiu will fix it (if you haven't already)
regards
sirlespat
