I have a 1986 Yamaha 115 on my bass boat. The back of my boat went under water last fall. I flushed the motor out and took it out to the lake and ran it one time after that and it ran fine. Now I have no power at all, not to the power trim or the motor. Where to start looking. Would it be in the control box or where? I think something probably is corroded or something. When the power leaves the battery does it go through the control box before it goes to the motor, would the power trim work even if the motor has no power to start?

Re: No electrical power

hello<br /> test your battery, inspect the cables. check the 20 amp fuse adjacent to the starter solinoid. the ground from the neg bat terminal is on the starter. the the positive from the batt goes to the starter solinoid and is tapped from there through the fuse to the controls/keyswitch

Re: No electrical power

troubleshoot what rodbolt describes by connecting another separate battery with jumpers directly to an engine ground and the starter solenoid, even bypass the solenoid briefly and try getting the starter to spin. definately check the 20amp fuse first as those fuse holders look waterproof but arent.
