No exhaust bellow??

O.k....another question from a new guy!<br />Having done a bunch of homework to replace my water pump,I have noticed that I do not have a exhaust bellows in place! Not that I have one there that is torn....NONE at all!<br />My question is....I have a trip planed to the lake this weekend...can I run my boat without the bellows there??? The reason I ask is,It's dosn't look like it has had one on in a long time.<br />Will one trip to the lake damage something?<br /><br />My boat is a 1979 SeaRay Daycruiser<br />260 350cid<br />Pre-Alpha upper and Alpha lower unit.

No it won't damage any thing, some tims they will soot up the transom if you idle alot

Thank you.I was leaning that way...but thought i'd ask first.<br />I plan on replacing it...just not before the weekend.I just bought the boat...and am iching to see how it runs on the lake.

Laddie is right, in fact the pre alphas did not have bellows for the exhaust, only a tube...
