I have a side mount single lever Teleflex remote throttle:

Problem - I can't push the button for 'fast idle' unless the arm is about 15 degrees forward. This activates the neutral safety, so I can't disengage the gear shift without the engine already running - not very useful in trying to start the motor!
Of note: the switch inside the control box is not connected to anything. I'm digging for reference on how the gears inside should be set & I'm suspecting that the switch is meant to override the neutral safety when the fast idle button is pressed. Is that Correct? If so, where should the switch wires be connected up with the rest of the electronics?
