Can I just change the steering box (helm) and use the existing cable to give me no- feedback steering? How do I know which box to buy? The boats a 08 Princecraft 164 with a 75 Merc.

Thanks

Not sure about the rotary system, but with the rack system the cables and rack come as a unit so what you suggest wouldn't be possible. I'm guessing that's the case with the rotary unit as well.

How do you tell if I have a rotory or rack system? Which is better when buying a no-feedback system?

Look behind the dash. If you're not sure what the 2 look like there are photos of them on any site that sells them.

Probably easiest to stick with whatever is currently in your boat. The thing you can run into when swapping one for the other is making it fit.
