no fire 1150 inline6

ok new to outboards....NOT new to boating just the outboard world got an inline 6 that spins over but no fire to plugs....all the stator and switch box stuff is new to me so i need to know where to start and what should have power via test light....this thing is nothing like a mercruiser 496 mag

Guess what firewolfe? Those engines were made over many many years and have different ignition systems.

First thing: Post the year and Serial Number.

Failing that, look to see if it has an automotive style distributor or not.Probably it does if in fact it really is one of the older 1150's. But; you never know. Take a look and report back.

The trouble-shooting sequences differ from one to another.

The pros here will help you sort things out.

buy the numbers best I can tell its a 1975 model and yes It has auto type dist. cap
