Still no fire on my # 2 cylinder. Compression gauge is on the way but when engine running and spark plug out of #2 there is a significant amount of air coming out - almost like a compressor. Piston is moving and cant see any holes.

I read in the Seloc manual that with the 2 carb 2 barrell setup, one barrell is dedicated to each cylinder. Is it possible that this is causing my no fire situation. I have a good blue spark jumping a 1/2" easy and compression appears good from the above.

Engine runs rough and not at full power but starts easily and doesnt die - idles as long as I want. # 2 head is as cool as a cucumber while the others warm up nicely. Removing # 2 sparplug wire has no change in the performance.

I dont want to rebuild the carbs but it seems this is the last step of the troubleshooting. How do I test from here?

Jamie

I'm confused. You said that you have no fire in #2 and then you say you have good blue spark jumping a 1/2" gap????

That confused me also.... I believe what he's saying when he says "no fire", he means that he has spark but has no response.

Jamie.... If you have compression in that cylinder (and others...(buy a gauge and let us know what the readings are), I would assume you have a carburetor problem.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes I have good spark but #2 cylinder is not running. There is no change in the RPMs when removing the spark plug wire and I have swapped the coils and # 2 is dead. Piston moves and appears to have compression. A guage is coming and I will post all #'s soon.

How is it that only one cylinder is being affected if this is a carb issue?

Just a thought...if you take the plug wire off and run it for a minute...if the plug comes out dry there is no fuel....if it comes out wet, there is. Should get one of the pros to address this as I am just an amateur.
