no fire on a 94/vro 50 hp

well i took the merc off and set a 50hp vro on my daughters boat. Guess what? It has no fire at all. THE controls are the ones that it was running with /starter turns motor good , have 12+ volts on the 3 terminals at rear of treminal block , but no fire at plug wires . How should i CK stator /trigger /coils /etc. before i start buying parts for this one?

found my trouble8) don't know what caused it ,but i unpluged the harness that goes to the VRO pump and the fire came back / now runs with or without that pluged in. Going to run primix in it so she can't burn it up
