I have a 1995 force 120 hp that has been running very good.
That is until today. I madeabout a 5 mile run to a fishing hole, all was well. Idled around for about 5 minutes. Turned off the moter and when i got ready to leave it would not start.
I checked all fuel lines and it was getting gas.
The moter will turn over but not start.
It is almost like the kill switch has been pulled. So i checked that and then i wired it direct ( no kill switch). Worked on it for about 2 hrs in the water to no avail.
Brought it home and worked some more.it seems to not be getting any fire to plugs at all
Took out a plug, left wire on, no fire to be seen thoughAAny help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: NO FIRE

Welcome to iboats. :)

You killed it!

With the kill switch wires connected together, it's dead. But you didn't hurt anything, except your shoulders from paddling home. Disconnect and see if the spark comes back. To kill the spark, voltage that would otherwise go to the coils is dumped to ground. One of those wires is a ground and the other goes to the switchbox. When the key switch is turned Off, it turns the Kill circuit On. (Same with the kill switch.) That's the main reason that outboard motor ignition switches are different than any other.

Re: NO FIRE

stator or trigger if all plugs are sparkless,
cdmodule if only 2 plugs are dead.
