I have a 78 evin.85 hp o/b.I was having tilt and trim switch problems so took the shifter apart,after putting it back together i can't shift.Took back apart and together several times and still have the same problem.Just a note, i didn't have any gear oil in all winter and during that time i would turn the engine over several times to keep things from gumming up.I have since taken the cable off and tried to do it manualy and it sounds like it is moving but hitting and stopping? Any help please!!

Is the linkage pin connected under the carbs? Start at the top and work your way down.<br /><br />Bob
