I’m struggling with a fuel issue. I replaced the fuel/water separator, filled it with fuel but never got the bulb to get firm. I went as far as pulling the check valve off the top of the tank, hooked a line directly from there to the bulb. When I pump the bulb, I get no fuel at all. I replaced the bulb with no change in the result. The boat has a full tank of fuel. What else could it be?

Not yet. I was wondering if that could be the issue as well, just got frustrated with it today and gave up short of checking it

Primer bulbs do not pump air very well. Even new ones. Put some fuel into the primer bulb and retry.

Also, water separators can be hard to prime. I filled the last one, but still had to run the motor at idle to finish priming the water separator, since the fuel line from the separator to the tank still had air.
