Hi guys !!

well i am back and still having problems !! mr tashas daddy !! you said you have the same outboard as mine & i am wondering what mixture ratio you use for gas/oil mixture ??!!

how many oz. of oil to 5 gals gas ??!!

i am getting desperate as i just can't get this motor to idle !!!!
i removed 2 carbs & paid $230 ($130 ea. to have local johnson dealer
rebuild the carbs) motor ran good and idled ok for 3 weeks then same old "no idle" but, runs great at all speeds 2000,2500,3000 rpm but, will not idle ??!! replaced fuel tank, plugs, fuel pump, rebuilt carbs @ dealer
so i am desperate and if you were here i would gladly pay you to fix this
#*^@)&%$! thing !! i am 70 & would like just 1 season without having
to use a grapple hook to dock this thing !!!

you guys are great !! and any help will be greatly appreciated !!

thanks so very much !!! sorry Joe, emails not allowed, for your protection. TD 10/2/09

This model has a thermostat style that has a poppet valve that is very prone to being blocked open with derbis. Check your engine temp, and if not up to 140 deg, remove the themostat, check that it is not stuck open and clean out the popet valve seat. They don't idle well if to cold. The thermostat is at the top of the cylinder head. Plastic fitting that a spark plug wrench will remove.

Joe, it sounds to me, that you have clogged low speed jets in the carb. or the idle speed is set too low. but it appears it was idling good, then started to mess up, which leads me to the low speed jets. bring it to Florida, i'll fix it.
