no ignition

I have a 1993 Evinrude 88 special with no spark. Im guessing that the problem is the power pack, and was wondering if there is a easy way to test the pack either off or on the engine. I would rather do the work myself instead of taking it in if its something as simple as the pack. Does anyone have any sujestions on what or how to check this and if something else could be the problem. I have allready checked all wireing and everything seems to be in working order. A note to this, the ignition problem has accured once before and with some tinkering got it running not knowing what i had done, it worked fine until i tried to use it a couple weeks later.<br />Thanks for any input

Bret - Welcome - - Best bet would be to get the OMC shop manual and follow the troubleshooting procedures. Thanks for the welcome, I do have a maintence/repair manual for the engine, I followed the procedures and seem to be getting correct results. I just dont have a load adapter to test the power pack. Im just trying to get initial results on all tests and then back track if necessary.
