im a johnson guy. and have had lot of help on here, i have a freinds 2002 merc 60 hp bigfoot, that im working on. it has good compession, 110psi the carbs rebuilt, new spark plugs, the prob is it dont have lot of power, dont miss or anything, i took the plug wires off while it was running, the top cyl didnt make any diffrents, so i changed the coil out with nother one, it done samething, took the plug out started it up had good blue spark, fireing good, but doesnt make any change, to the mator, when its runing, it acts like its not fireing, when its time for it, what do i need to check, thanks hope to get some help from the johnson guys, on this merc,i hope dont ruffle anyone the wrong way.

That spark needs to jump 7/16 of an inch. Build a spark checker out of some blocks of wood and some nails. If spark is ok I would think you still have a fuel problem.

Probably not getting fuel to the cylinder in question. Confirm by spraying fuel/oil mix into the appropriate carb bore and see if RPM's increase at all.

agree you have spark and compression, you need fuel.

just had the same problem with a bluband 4 cyl , the top carb float needle was stuck in , the rubber peaks on the needles seems to get soft and sticky with age and the fuel pump pressure is not enough to over come poping them out.
