I have a 2005 Maxum 19' that has 80hrs. For the first time just this week found myself out past sunset and flipped on the NAV lights and nothing front red and green nor rear pole light. The switch lights up I checked the fuse checked the bulb. What am I missing?

Every other switch on the dash works from the horn to the tower lights , blower, bilge pump, EXC

Pull the switch out, and take a test lead and cross the terminals. If it lights up, you'll need a new switch.. Those switches get power for the light from the feed, but it might not be making contact in the main part of the switch. If that fails, jump power to the fuse and see.

If the switch is good start checking the wire connections at the fixtures for corrosion.

nav lights are like trailer lights. mysterious and prone to working only when they want to. Especially for salt water boaters

Re: NO Nav lights?

Thank's for the replies, I have been out of town since I last had the boat out. I hope to get a chance to try and figure out what is going on in the next couple days. Electrical buggaboos are not my thing. The boat has never been in salt water and gets stored in a heated garage. The bulb was a little corroded when I checked it, I cleaned it up but didn't check the connectors. Nothing other than the switch will explain the rear pole light it has never been used.
