No Neutral

:mad: My mercury has no reverse, it goes from forward to reverse with no positive neutral. I have to tension the selector between the two to get it in neutral. Any sugestions.

Sorry, It is a late 60s Thunderbolt Ignition, 6-Cylinder (100Hp - so they say, I cannot locate the sn.)

sounds like your :confused: shift dog detent ball is wornout or missing. dont know much about mercuray .have ben in a couple of them . they wer 1974 . there is a spring loaded ball under the shift dog .like on a ratchet that holds the socket on but bigger
