No oil for 15 min. now what

1979 115hp evinrude. While decarbing I left out the oil when I ran 3/4 of a gal of gas with a can sea foam for about 15 min. through the engine. I just realized it a week later (old age). I ran the rest of the day with no aparent problems. Do you think I now am running a ticking time bomb.

Just run a little more oil than you have before to keep it lubercated. If its not knocking or or pinning I think you'll be alright. Just like i said run a little more oil then you would normaly

Since the main ingredient is pale oil 40-60%, it does offer some level of lubrication. I wouldn't make a steady diet of it. Usually , you'd be using the seafoam mix in a basically low RPM application. I doubt you did any damage. If you had taken any compression tests earlier , as a baseline, re-do compression test, and compare figures.

Hard to say what has happened to the internals of the motor, maybe you are very lucky, maybe you should pull the cylinder heads off and check the bores for scratches ec. As this might lead to broken rings, and a high repair build, I do not know what "seafoam's" lubricating properties are but like what was said " you might be lucky" and get away with it, I hope so,I made the sametype of mistake some years ago but I was not lucky, I had to rebuild the motor, The older I get the more attractive four stroke motors are becoming , no premix, no auto lube, no auto mix ,no worries, just pay up fillup and go,

Thanks for the quick input. I am heading out fishing next week so I will run it with maybe 25% extra oil for a couple of 10 gal. tanks.
