Alright so I was going out in the boat last weekend and as I left the launch and got on plane, my no oil light came on. So I shut down right away and used trolling motor to get back to launch. I came home to do some troubleshooting on it and came up with what I think was a leak in my oil line. I mixed 50:1 in my tank and ran boat in my yard and in bayou and I do not get an oil light. But I think I'm going to disconnect the vro anyway and just premix. Well my question is what is this hose for? I never really noticed it before and it looks like it broke off from somewhere but I cant tell where. Does anybody recognize where it goes?

Just a thought, but it might be one of the lines that plug into the air box.

Yea there is one about the same size that plug into the air box. I don't see another hole and this one has a plastic tip broken off in it. Thanks though.

Check the front of the motor near the bottom. There is a plastic vent that takes a hose. Best to get a schematic of the plumbing to check your situation.

Did you have a horn going off for 10 seconds when the oil light came on ??

On my 94 175 there are 2 hoses that go to the air box. 1 goes to the upper right of the air box and just pushes into a rubber grommet in the box. The second hose goes to the lower left of the air box and connects to a plastic nipple molded into the box. Are you sure that's not the hose in your picture?

Do you have the system check gauge/tach on it ?

Sure enough thats where that hose goes, on the air box lower left. The nipple broke clean off. Is it important that hose be connected? Yea boobie my tach is a system check Faria and its brand new. My old one had never worked since I've owned boat, but the system check part did. When I turned key to on position all 4 lights would light up and go off one by one, but no beep. The new one does the same but the tach works as well now.

You should be getting a beep when you first turn the key on. Maybe a wireing or bad horn prob ??

Yes. Depending on the boat, it could be in the control box or under the dash.

Cool, Im gonna have to do some troubleshooting on that now, mine is probably under the dash. I dont have a control box , it mounts flush to the boat.
