Couple fishn' buddies stopped at the shop to BS today. My Dad came over and we got to re-livin' some times we spent at Bugs Island. ( for the un-initiated - John Kerr Reservoir, lies between Viginia and North Carolina.) Have to share this: My Dads brother Raymond went down with us one time. Before he left he mounted an extra seat in his Sea Nymph. Pedistal seat for the "other" guy. One day we all showed up at the dock nearly at the same time. First thing I noticed was that my Dad was soaking wet from head to toe. Now, at the time, my Dad was around 77 years of fishing age, very routund (likes his Bud) and had been the recipient of quadruple by-pass surgery. Naturally my concern overweighted all else and I asked what happened. Seems that when my Uncle mounted the seat, he mounted it on a door over a storage compartment. The doors opened toward the gunrails of the boat. All was well if the door latch held. These door latches don't hold well against a person of my Dads greatness. Ray said that he looked backed just in time to see my Dad do a rear flip off the side of the boat. Dad, who was wearing an auto inflatable vest, made it to shore and Ray picked him up. Luckily they were back in a cove and the water was down. S*** can and does happen all the time. Just damn glad to be able to set back and laugh about it.

OBJim :D
