86 Johnson 70hp with VRO disabled...

It ran fine all weekend pulling tubes mostly high RPM 4.5k to 6k and went through 6 tanks of gas.
Though it did idel a little roughly and had a little low end vibration under 1.5k

Ran fine all morning and after lunch we had no power at WOT it would only get up to about 4k RPM
just enought to plane. We did not change tanks or mess with fuel lines.

It ran Up for a few seconds then down then up and then down, pumping bulb helped a little as did pushing in choke. (This mean an air leak ?)

I did have a similar problem last month would not get over 3k rpm and marina said water in fuel. (so I changed to their gas station) could this be air leak all along ? Should I replace tanks and lines and add a water filter ?

Compression and cylinders looked since he had to put in a helicoil...(due to my heavy hand) I guess I will take it back to marina for this reason.

I know that there are fifty other posts with a similar problem up here but none that would run one minute and not the next.

Sounds like a bad ignition coil. After running it at WOT shut it down and pull the plugs. IF one is black, wet, and fouled I would replace the ignition coil to that plug.

Re: No Power at WOT...Again

I pulled the top and squeezed the ball and gas sprayed out from filter area, it seems that no one but both hose clamps on the fuel filter have broken.

I will get some OMC clamps and see if it does the trick.

I noticed also that I have what looks like mixing oil leaking from top plug
