Hello,
I am having some trouble with my boat, and I would appreciate a little bit of help.
1995 Wellcraft Eclipse 232
Volvo Penta 5.8FL
DPS outdrive
When I turn the key "on," there is power to the blower, etc.
When I turn the key to "Start," or hit one of the trim switches, then there is no power to anything.
Here is what I did, that was probably maintenance that needed to be done anyway, but did not solve the problem.
- Took apart all of the connectors in the dash and cleaned them and added tune up grease
- Replaced the ignition switch.
- Replaced all of the fuses, though all of them looked good.
- Checked the battery, it is good and reading 12.5 volts from the tester.
- On the Starboard exhaust manifold, there is are two 50 amp circuit breakers. I replaced both of those.
- I replaced the starter solenoid.
-Now I have 12.5 volts at the batter
- I have 12.5 volts on the left side of the starter solenoid (the feed side)
- I have 7.5 volts on the right side of the starter solenoid.
Any help you can give me would be great.
