I have marine 460 the boat is a 93. Im assuming the engines are 89 or 90. while re-doing the heads ,cam, and timing chain on one of the engines i accidently turned on the battery switch. the coil was hanging over the crank and must've grounded out . I now have no power going to the ignition switch. I need to know what is the wiring scheme for the ignition. I do have power going to a solenoid near the starter , coming directly from the battery switch, but no power to the ignition switch on the dash. Thefuse leading to the swith is intact. I also do not see any 50 or 60 amp breaker near the motor. is there a schematic i can view or can someone explain how the wiring set up works. On a solenoid mounted near the starter there are 2 heavy wires, one from battery, ther other to starter, then there are 2 smaller wires. one is a starter interrupt for the gear shifter and the other i traced to the coil. i'm need to know which wire leads to the ignition switch

thanks I have that diagram but i cannot find any 50 or 60 amp breakers. my set up has the battery cable going to ,and i'm guessing, a slave solenoid, and from there it feeds the starter. also on that solenoid is a purple wire, and a blue wire which goes to the transmission, could be the wire to prevent starting while in gear. . i do see a plug with about 10-11 pins where the wiring goes to the coil and other places . also another rubber plug that when pulled apart has a thick metal pin that slides into the other half. .

This appears to what you probably have. The wires going to the transmission should go to the ignition

yes the transmission wire does connect to the ignition. i will ,again, look for the 50 mp breaker this evening.with the intake manifold and the heads off I figured it would be easy to spot.
